Finding a reliable tradesperson is hard enough. Finding one who is properly screened, turns up when they say they will, and treats you with respect is harder again. Our team provides handyman services for NDIS participants across Canberra and the ACT, and we are set up for it: fully insured, holding a Working With Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration and a National Police Check, and invoicing under a valid ABN.

The work itself is straightforward handyman work, minor home modifications, repairs, and the general maintenance that keeps a home safe and easy to live in. What matters just as much is how it is done: on time, at a fixed price agreed upfront, and by people who are comfortable and respectful working in someone's home.

How we work with NDIS participants

We work with self-managed and plan-managed participants, and with the support coordinators who help organise their services. The process is the same as any other job, with a couple of details that make life easier for a plan:

• A fixed price quoted before we start, so the cost is clear and easy to approve
• Invoicing under our ABN with a clear description of the work, ready for a self-managed participant or plan manager to process
• A written summary of what was done, on request, for plan records
• One reliable contact for coordinators, we respond, we quote, and we show up

The handyman jobs we take on for NDIS participants

This is practical handyman work aimed at making a home safer, more accessible, and better maintained. Common jobs include:

• Handrail installation where it can be safely and securely fixed
• Door adjustments and repairs, so doors open, close and latch the way they should
• Furniture and flat-pack assembly, levelled and anchored to the wall
• TV wall mounting, shelving, and storage fitted at accessible heights
• Minor home modifications and general repairs around the home
• Ongoing maintenance so small issues get sorted before they become big ones

Being straight about scope

A handyman is not an occupational therapist, an electrician, a plumber, or a builder. Complex home modifications, anything that needs a clinical assessment first, load-bearing structural work, and licensed electrical, gas or plumbing work all sit outside what we do. When a job needs one of those, we say so plainly and point you toward the right person, rather than taking on work we are not the right fit for.

What we are good at is the practical, day-to-day handyman work that keeps a home in good shape, done by a screened, insured team you can rely on to turn up and do it properly.
