Home Services NDIS HANDYMAN

NDIS HANDYMAN
IN CANBERRA.

Handyman services for NDIS participants across Canberra. Insured, police cleared, WWVP registered, and invoiced under a valid ABN. Minor home modifications, repairs and general maintenance, done properly.

Finding a reliable tradesperson is hard enough. Finding one who is properly screened, turns up when they say they will, and treats you with respect is harder again. Polytechnitis provides handyman services for NDIS participants across Canberra and the ACT, and we are set up for it: fully insured, holding a Working With Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration and a National Police Check, and invoicing under a valid ABN.

The work itself is straightforward handyman work, minor home modifications, repairs, and the general maintenance that keeps a home safe and easy to live in. What matters just as much is how it is done: on time, at a fixed price agreed upfront, and by people who are comfortable and respectful working in someone's home.

How we work with NDIS participants

Polytechnitis works with self-managed and plan-managed participants, and with the support coordinators who help organise their services. The process is the same as any other job, with 4 details that make life easier for a plan:

  • A fixed price quoted before we start, so the cost is clear and easy to approve
  • Invoicing under our ABN with a clear description of the work, ready for a self-managed participant or plan manager to process
  • A written summary of what was done, on request, for plan records
  • One reliable contact for coordinators, we respond, we quote, and we show up

If you are agency-managed, or you are not certain how your plan is managed, call and we will let you know honestly whether we are the right fit before anything is booked.

The handyman jobs we take on for NDIS participants

This is practical handyman work aimed at making a home safer, more accessible, and better maintained. It draws on the same services as any other job: door and sliding door repair, flat pack assembly, carpentry and timber repairs, and the small jobs that pile up. Common jobs include:

  • Handrail installation where it can be safely and securely fixed
  • Door adjustments and repairs, so doors open, close and latch the way they should
  • Furniture and flat-pack assembly, levelled and anchored to the wall
  • TV wall mounting, shelving, and storage fitted at accessible heights
  • Minor home modifications and general repairs around the home
  • Ongoing maintenance so small issues get sorted before they become big ones

Fully insured, WWVP registered, police cleared. Documentation available on request.

Being straight about scope

A handyman is not an occupational therapist, an electrician, a plumber, or a builder, and Polytechnitis does not pretend otherwise. Complex home modifications, anything that needs a clinical assessment first, load-bearing structural work, and licensed electrical, gas or plumbing work all sit outside what we do. When a job needs one of those, we say so plainly and point you toward the right person, rather than taking on work we are not the right fit for.

Ongoing upkeep can also be booked as property maintenance, across every suburb on our locations we service page.

What we are good at is the practical, day-to-day handyman work that keeps a home in good shape, done by a screened, insured team you can rely on to turn up and do it properly.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Common questions

Do you work with NDIS participants in Canberra?

Yes. Polytechnitis provides handyman services for NDIS participants across Canberra and the ACT. We are fully insured, hold a Working With Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration and a National Police Check, and invoice under a valid ABN. Call 0424 705 056 to talk through what you need.

Are you a registered NDIS provider?

Polytechnitis works with self-managed and plan-managed participants and their support coordinators, who are able to use providers like us. If you are agency-managed, or you are not sure how your plan is managed, give us a call and we will be straight with you about whether we are the right fit before anything is booked.

How does invoicing work against my plan?

Polytechnitis invoices under ABN 25 400 566 062 with a clear description of the work and the cost, so a self-managed participant or a plan manager can process the claim without chasing us for details. The price is fixed and quoted before we start, so there are no surprises when the invoice arrives.

What kind of jobs do you do for NDIS participants?

Polytechnitis takes on minor home modifications and general handyman work that make a home safer and easier to live in: handrail installation, door adjustments, furniture and flat-pack assembly, TV mounting, shelving and storage at accessible heights, and everyday repairs and maintenance. If a job needs a licensed trade or a clinical assessment first, we tell you and point you in the right direction.

Can you provide a record of the work completed?

Yes. On request Polytechnitis provides a written summary of the work done, which helps with plan records and with support coordinators keeping track of what has been actioned.

Do you charge more for NDIS work?

No. Polytechnitis uses the same fixed-price approach as on any other job. We quote the work upfront and that is the price you pay. There is no premium for booking as an NDIS participant.

NEED A SCREENED, INSURED NDIS HANDYMAN?

Insured, screened, and straight with you. Tell us what needs doing and we'll give you a fixed price before we start.
