FLAT PACK
ASSEMBLY IN
CANBERRA.

Furniture that turned up in flat boxes, and you would rather not lose a weekend to an allen key. We assemble flat-pack furniture across Canberra and Queanbeyan, level it, anchor it, and take the packaging away.

Flat-pack furniture is cheap to buy and miserable to build. The instructions are wordless, half the dowels seem to go in the wrong way, and a wardrobe that should take an hour eats your whole Sunday. We assemble it for you: wardrobes, beds, desks, drawers, bookcases, outdoor settings, the lot. We bring our own tools, we read the diagram so you do not have to, and we take the cardboard away when the job is done.

It is one of the most common jobs we get called for across Canberra and Queanbeyan, and it is exactly the kind of work this business was built around.

What we assemble

If it comes in a flat box, we will put it together. Some of the most common items we get called for:

  • IKEA furniture, including PAX wardrobes, BILLY bookcases, and bed frames
  • Kmart, Target, and Fantastic Furniture flat-packs
  • Amart, Bunnings, and Officeworks furniture
  • Wardrobes, robes, and storage systems
  • Beds, bunk beds, and bed bases with drawers
  • Desks, office chairs, and home-office setups
  • Chests of drawers, bedsides, dressers, and entertainment units
  • Outdoor settings, BBQs, trampolines, and swing sets
  • Gym equipment, weight benches, and racks
  • Flat-pack laundry and kitchen cabinetry

More than just bolting it together

Assembly is the easy part. Doing it so the piece is safe and square is where it matters.

  • Anchoring tall furniture to the wall so it cannot tip, essential with kids in the house
  • Levelling and adjusting so doors sit flush and drawers run true
  • Mounting TVs and securing entertainment units
  • Fixing furniture that was assembled wrong the first time
  • Clearing out all the cardboard, foam, and plastic

Tip-over is a real risk with tall, lightweight flat-packs, and the safe answer is to anchor bookcases, drawers, and wardrobes to the wall. We do that as standard on every job where it applies, not as an upsell.

Why pay someone to assemble furniture?

Plenty of people start a flat-pack themselves and call us halfway through. There is no shame in it. The usual reasons people hand it over:

  • Time: a big wardrobe or bunk bed can swallow an afternoon, and we do it in a fraction of that
  • Odd or missing parts: we carry the tools and fixings to work around them and finish the job
  • The finish: doors aligned, drawers level, nothing wobbling or leaning
  • Volume: a whole bedroom, nursery, or office worth of furniture done in one visit

What we don’t do

  • Sell or supply the furniture (you buy it, we build it)
  • Custom-built cabinetry from raw timber, which is joinery, not flat-pack
  • Removal of your old furniture as part of an assembly job (we can quote that separately)

One visit, multiple jobs done

New house, new furniture, and a list of other jobs? We can assemble the flat-packs and knock off the small jobs in the same visit: hang the TV, fit the blind brackets, mount the shelves, sort the sticking door.

Property managers and short-stay hosts call us to fit out a place between tenants, assembly, anchoring, and the general property maintenance in one booking. If a piece needs real timber repair rather than assembly, our carpentry and repairs service covers it.

Fixed price. Quoted before we start. Packaging taken away, furniture anchored, done properly.
